Our NYAS Directors are:

David Keegan
is a social worker with over ten years experience in the youth housing and family services sector in Western Sydney. He has managed community organisations and is currently teaching at TAFE and working in private practice. David has been a member of NYAS since August 2009 when he also joined the board. He is Deputy Chairperson and chairs the Compliance Committee.

Michael Rosano
has a background in accounting and has been in the industry since 1980. He is currently in private practice providing accounting and bookkeeping services to small businesses. Michael has been involved in voluntary work since 1986 mainly with the St Vincent de Paul Society in personal engagement with families in need and serving on various committees including a facility for homeless men. He is a local member of Rotary. Michael has been a member of NYAS since October 2009 and joined the board as representative from the Rotary Club of Wallacia and Mulgoa Valley. He is Treasurer and chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.

Gary Askwith
has worked in the community services sector for over 15 years in Local Government and various NGOs such as Father Riley’s Youth off the Streets, Mission Australia and Caretakers Cottage, Youth Crisis Accommodation Services. Gary is committed to social justice and is currently working in the field of mental health. Gary became a member of NYAS in July 2008 when he joined the board. He holds the position of Secretary and is a member of the Governance Committee. Cliff Foley
retired from the NSW Police after 30 years of service with a wide range of experiences including general duties, detectives, intelligence and forensic services. Currently running a small business, he has been involved in various charities over the years. Cliff undertook his forensic studies at the ANU. Cliff became a member of NYAS in June 2008 when he joined the board.

George Rabie
has been in business for the past 36 years and was chairman of Retravision for 17 years. His formal qualifications are in accounting. George is an active member of Rotary and serves on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, Penrith and a number of other charities and foundations. George became a member of NYAS in September 2009 when he joined the board. He serves on the Audit and Risk Committee.

Carole Kelaher
has been a teacher for 40 years retiring as the Assistant Principal of Rossmore PS. She undertakes charity work for a number of organisations and teaches on a part time basis. Carole joined NYAS in December 2009 when she joined their board.

Ken Buttrum AM
was the Director General of the NSW Department of Juvenile Justice from mid 1995 until November 2000. He served as the Chair of the Australasian Juvenile Justice administrators and he was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2002 for his work in the Juvenile Justice system. After his retirement he was appointed as the CEO of Marist Youth Care from June 1994 until July 1996. Ken became a member of NYAS in July 2010 when he joined the board.
